While filming Iron Man at Edwards Air Force Base, director Jon Favreau and his cast got a chance to work with some of the men and women in uniform.  "They're tremendous professionals," said Favreau of the servicemembers hired to work on the film.  "Every background performer is a bit of a technical advisor.  So there's a plethora of information available to you."

As for the location itself, Favreau said, "This is the best back lot you could ever have.  Every angle you shoot is authentic: desert, dry lake beds, hangars."

Iron Man isn't the first film to shoot at Edwards Air Force Base.  This summers' Transformers recently filmed there and also used local servicemembers as extras.  Check out the official Air Force website for reactions of some of the men and women lucky enough to get a part in the film.
